1. Wear of friction plate

Many disc brakes are equipped with wear indicator. When the friction plate is worn to the predetermined thickness, the contact between the indicator and the brake disc will produce a high frequency scream. Therefore, if the above fault is found in the inspection, the friction plate must be replaced in time. (Note: some countries may have the requirement to replace the friction sheet before reaching the minimum thickness. Therefore, wear indicators should be proofread according to the national requirements. )

If the wear indicator is deformed, it is best to replace it because it is more difficult to correct its position from the back. During inspection, friction plates should be replaced if the friction plates have been flake off, separated, cracked or seriously damaged, and brake fluid outflows.

2. The glaze of friction plate

When the surface of the friction plate is glazed (very smooth and glassy), the brake will also generate high noise when braking. The replacement of new friction flake may temporarily eliminate noise, but if it does not fundamentally solve the problem, noise may also happen again. The most common cause of glaze quality on friction surfaces is overheating. The overheating is caused by the slip of the brake pincers or the failure of the hydraulic system (such as the throttle of the brake pipe, the stop of the brake completely or the control of the valve head, etc.). The friction of brake calipers will cause uneven wear of friction plates, which is due to the structure itself. On a single floating brake caliper, if the inner friction plate wears faster than the outer friction disc, it means that the brake caliper is suspended and needs to be serviced. This phenomenon can be tested by instruments. The instrument is made up of a pair of pressure gauges. The pressure gauge can show the actual pressure inside and outside the friction disc. Each table is connected with a pressure sensor which is placed in the working area of the friction disc. With this instrument, the pressure difference between the internal and external friction plates can be accurately measured, so that the dynamic tongs can be customized to be suspended. After the brake caliper is restored to its original position, the slide and friction plates must be cleaned and derusting first and then thoroughly lubricated with the high temperature brake grease.

3, the damage of the shock absorber on the friction plate

Many disk brake friction plates are equipped with shock absorbers, and if the shock sheets are not installed when replacing the brake flakes, it is likely to produce noise. In addition to the failure of the original shock absorber, the vibration damper installed in sales will be useful. In addition, all kinds of composite materials on the shock absorber also have their own use. In repair, the shock absorber and composite materials should be installed under the friction plate to reduce the vibration between the friction plates and the brake pincers.

4, brake parts damage

When using the brake disc to adjust the brake pincers and the frictions, the parts (such as springs, gaskets, keyways, pinch, pin, bushing, etc.) may have been worn, loose and aging, and if continued use may cause eccentricity, it may cause noise. In addition, eccentricity can also cause hot spot and glaze quality of the rotor surface. Therefore, parts should be inspected when repairing brakes, and some problems need to be replaced.

5. Loosening of the lateral friction plate

Many of the external friction plates of the brake are fixed on the supporting earrings of the bottom plates, which must be strong enough to effectively prevent the friction plates from shifting. Otherwise, the friction piece will loose, causing noise when braking and bending the earrings.
